Welcome Home, Love

It was another call to the office, no doubt, that had interrupted them at unnecessary hours of the evening. It was inane. Honestly, the man had just gotten home. Axel was still clad in his business attire (granted his jacket was currently slung across the back of his chair and his tie was considerably looser than it was upon his arrival) for goodness sake! And now he had to go back to the office? Roxas was terribly perturbed, but made no comment as Axel rose from the dinner table to answer his wretched cell. Instead, the frustrated blonde opted to glare at his food in silence.

Axel was talking quickly, sounding exhausted and aggravated, but eventually agreed to make another “short” trip back to the office to collect some files his boss wanted finished by morning. The inconsiderate prick.

Axel sighed and closed his cell with a little more force than strictly necessary, “Sorry, love. I’ve got to get back to the office to pick up some work Xemnas needs completed by Monday.” He remarked slightly downtrodden and sporting a tired smile. Roxas frowned, but again made no comment, so Axel continued. “I promise I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

“I won’t wait up.”

The redhead smiled and pecked Roxas on the cheek grabbing his jacket. “Of course not.”

But despite what Roxas had said earlier, after stowing their ruined dinner in the fridge, he ended up curling into a comfortable ball on the plush chair by the window. Roxas fought sleep and hunger (he had refused to eat without Axel) to keep his eyes open and trained on the door. Just in case of an early arrival he knew would never come…

Roxas found himself opening his eyes (a great deal later than when he had first closed them) to a soft pressure on his lips. He smiled and responded almost immediately. The kiss was sweet, chaste, and more than a little firey. Axel. He was home.

“Welcome home, love” Roxas mumbled sleepily with a lazy smile.

Hello everyone. So I’ll just dive right into the information I wish to disclose because I really don’t feel in the mood to ramble at the moment… anyways. Here goes.

I got this lovely pose and background story idea from a manga I read a while ago… I can’t recall the title—the manga was in French—but let me tell you it was awesome! Lols. So this is my belated AkuRoku day pic. It’s sort of plain but I like it anyhow. I apologize profusely for the lateness, it was not intentional, I assure you. But unfortunately my late computer overheated and crashed a few weeks ago, and in the fire it took along all of my in progress projects. I lost everything. It was devastating. But oh well. My new computer—whom I have named Jarvis—came in the mail precisely one week ago, and in that week of hectic school and boorish assignments, I have managed to scrape up this piece. Hope you guys like it
